I thought I'd write a little bit about my motivations in creating this website, if only because I'm not really sure what else to put here first. I think a little bit of background would be good if only to whet my appetite for writing again.

I have attempted to start up a couple of different websites in the past with little success. I found myself in a cycle of buying a domain, setting up a static site generator, spending time writing HTML layouts and a theme for said site generator, deploying it all and then leaving it to rot. Occasionally I would write one or two blog posts, but they would always end up left on the cutting room floor. I had always just chalked this up to having little to write about or share, but I don't think that's true of me or most other people.

My motivations this time around are at least a bit more clearly defined than previously, but still muddy overall. I don't have any clearly defined ideas on what I would like to write about, or share, but I think practicing sharing for the sake of it is a good cause. If I don't practice or create anything, then I've nothing to show of myself. I suppose whatever comes of that practice is worth sharing with someone, at least.
